ITU Climate Science and Meteorological Engineering
ITU Climate Science and Meteorological Engineering
Climate Science and Meteorological Engineering Department has been established as a part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1953 and has been a part of the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics since 1983.

The department also provides graduate and doctorate education under the ITU Graduate School Atmospheric Sciences Program. Faculty members regularly work as visiting professors and researchers at the world's leading universities every year.

As an internationally recognized center of excellence in education and research, the department aims to understand, explain, and predict the atmosphere, atmospheric systems, and atmospheric events. Another major objective is to conduct research activities in theoretical and applied atmospheric sciences and technology at a competitive international level and to encourage interdisciplinary studies.

The department maintains close cooperation with national and international organizations. The curriculum has been arranged according to the accreditation criteria of the American Meteorological Society (AMS), together with the needs of Türkiye.
ITU Climate Science and Meteorological Engineering Undergraduate Program has been accredited by the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) since 2011.
