Meteorological Engineering Department aims to educate engineers who can work using the most advanced technologies on weather analysis and prediction, climate change, air pollution, solar and wind energy, hydrology, agricultural meteorology, and atmospheric physics, etc. and is the “first” department in the field of atmospheric sciences and meteorological engineering in Turkey. Every year 70 students are admitted to the department through OSYM (National Student Measuring, Selection and Placement Center), and the graduates receive the title of Meteorological Engineer. Also, students can apply for a Double Major Program in other engineering departments at ITU and graduate with a second diploma as long as they meet the necessary conditions. Moreover, students can spend a term/year of their education at a European university within the scope of ERASMUS and similar programs within the Socrates Program of EU Education and Youth Programs.
